Today, the race committee once again served up two up & downwind races followed by a coastal leg. Thankfully, we didn’t have to wait on the water for wind — we stayed ashore until a light breeze of around 8 knots picked up around noon, gradually increasing throughout the day.
The Channel Sailing Racing Team sailed strongly again. In the second race of the day, we finished 2nd, securing our 3rd place in the overall standings of the European Championship. The mood on board is focused and upbeat — we’re finding our rhythm.
Tomorrow at 12 PM, the offshore race “Tour de voile à la Corse” begins. We’ll sail anti-clockwise around the island, and based on current forecasts, it looks like a long journey ahead. Our navigator’s routing suggests it could take over 50 hours to complete!
We’re fully prepared. All safety gear is on board, plenty of water and food are stocked, and the team is getting some well-earned rest. Tomorrow, we’ll be fresh and ready to take on this epic challenge!
